Jose A. Ortiz, 72, passed away on June 16, 2024. Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, Jose moved to Vineland, NJ in 1970, where he built a life filled with love and dedication to his family and community.

Jose was married to Grismilda Ortiz Sotomayor for 47 wonderful years. Together, they raised two daughters, Jelitza Cooper (Bruce) and Sharlene Stocks (Brandon). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Elijah N. Gonzalez, Jalia B. Cooper, Alani N. Gonzalez, Elijah K. Stocks-Torres, Jaylani B. Cooper, Jaycee B. Stocks, and Jaxen J. Stocks. 

Jose is survived by several brothers and sisters who will continue to honor his memory.

He was predeceased by his parents, Enriqueta Leon and Jose Angel Ortiz; his grandchildren, Ashlee N. Gonzalez and Justice B. Cooper; and several siblings. 

Jose's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. 

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. Jose will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
