Uncle Doug selflessly helped his brother Ken (Sarge) back in 1974. Our family had no real plan where to settle after dad retired from the Air Force. Mom of course wanted to live in Missouri, but dad wanted to be close to his family in Boston too. Uncle Doug let us move in with him until we found a home in Vineland. Six of us and five of his family! We crowded in together on Jay Terrace, Aunt Lucille fed us amazing food, and they loved and put up with us four crazy kids. Uncle Doug connected my dad with a job at Salem nuclear plant, and we settled on Sylvester Drive. I can't even express how grateful I am my uncle found me a place to call home in New Jersey. I love you, Uncle Doug.

I had the pleasure of working with Doug on several projects. He was a born leader and happy to say he was my friend. And I remember seeing him hit the softball over the fence at Landis Park a few times.

Doug was my first general foreman. He taught me how to be a leader and to stand up for myself. He will always be in my memories.
