Modesto Francisco Oria, age 81, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Modesto was born on May 1, 1932, in Santander, Spain, to father Antonio Oria and mother Julia Fernandez.
Modesto leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Maria C. Oria who he married in Vineland, NJ. Modesto is also survived by son, Mario M. Oria, daughter, Julia C. Oria, grandson, Lucas Oria, granddaughter, Isabella Oria, daughter-in-law, Nicole Oria, brothers and sisters, Julia Oria, Ramon Oria, Francisco Oria, Consuelo Oria, in-laws, Marta, Remberto, Teresa, Leticia, Robert, and Luis Perez, and many nieces and nephews in Santander, Spain. Modesto is predeceased by brothers and sister, Jose Oria, Antonio Oria, and Maru Oria.
Modesto loved to cook and host friends and family whenever they were in town. He would make a feast as soon as you arrived. Modesto also loved to travel and watch the sunset over the beach.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 4pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Friends will be received on Friday from 2pm to 4pm at the funeral home. A Funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10am at the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, followed by inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Divine Mercy Parish.
