Marlene taught me as well as all of my siblings many years ago when we were in 7th and 8th grade. She was a phenomenal teacher and her students looked up to her and respected her. I went on to become a teacher myself and came back to work with Marlene for many years until her retirement. She was my teacher, colleague, and friend. After she retired we would get together every once in awhile and reminisce about our time at school and she would share stories about her husband and grandchildren that she adored more than life itself. Marlene was a gem; one of a kind. A woman who inspired so many students during her career and touched so many lives. I’m glad I was one of those people, and I’m glad I got to reconnect with her toward the end. She reminded me of why we shouldn’t take life for granted. I will miss you, my friend. ❤️

I had her in third, sixth, and eighth grade. What a difference a person can make in the world. Every time I look at how wonderful my life is, I trace it all back to her. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with her almost 40 years later and was able to thank her and tell her I loved her. She changed my future by being a caring, yet no nonsense teacher. I’m thankful she was such a large part of my life. I’m sorry for everyone’s loss.

I have had Marlene on my mind lately. Thinking of the many laughs we had as I gave her pedicures. She shared many personal stories of her life with me that I will cherish forever. Her love for her Husband, her Family, Casino visits, and her wonderful Cats. Oh and let’s not forget Betsey Johnson bags! I surprised her with one on one of her appointments…the look on her face was priceless! She will be missed but never forgotten. Sending healing love to the family…ox Lia

Well, as you know, Marlene loved her cats, but what me and Skippy did not know was she had a chicken in her purse? I know what you’re thinking we were at the Hilton Casino Buffet. She thought she would take a chicken home to the kitties but she forgot her bag lol at one of the slot machines Security then called out overhead for Marlene Latourneau and now she will Be forever known as the chicken lady lol. God bless you, Marlene. I love you. I miss you. I miss you. I miss you.
