Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heart felt sadness we mourn the passing of James Paul "Jimmy" Hurban, 66, of Vineland, New Jersey who passed away on September 28th in Cedar Grove Respiratory & Nursing Care Center.
James Hurban was born in Newcomb Hospital in Vineland, New Jersey on January 18, 1958. He went to the area schools until his father was offered a position opening offices in a few countries. Therefore, Jimmy was traveling to a few countries. While growing up his mother noticed his eating habits. He never seemed full. He would sneak food into his bedroom at night. When jimmy was 21 he had a slight heart attack, he was 300lbs. In the hospital a woman came into the room and said she thought he had Prader Willi. A disease that never makes one feel full. As a result, his mother put him in the Dorothy Group Home after a few weeks. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, having things to do, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. He received many awards to include bowling, most improved individual and was involved in the Special Olympics.
James Hurban is survived by his mother, Marie Chirico-Hurban; aunt, Geri Farabella; brothers, Michael (Claridie) and Fred (Tabitha) Hurban, and nephews and nieces, Christopher, Gregory, Zachary, and Samantha Hurban; cousins, Ronny and Paula Farabella. He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Hurban, and his brother, Daniel Hurban.
Also his best friend, Thomas McCormick who took him many places in his big red truck. Jimmy had problems with his knees from time to time which made it difficult for him to walk up steps. Thomas had a step stool and in which he attached a wood railing with the words "Jimmy Can Do It". This allowed Jimmy to get into the truck without any problems.
