Obituary of Aurea Candelario

Aurea Candelario, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on August 22, 1951, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Aurea grew up in Vineland, New Jersey, before making Philadelphia her home.

Aurea was a gentle, kind, and loving soul who loved unconditionally and without judgment. She welcomed everyone who crossed her path with open arms. Her warmth and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Aurea had a passion for cooking and gardening and took great joy in caring for her birds. She loved walking on the beach or being near any body of water, and she cherished spending days in the park with her family. Music was an essential part of her life; she could often be found dancing in the kitchen while the sounds of her favorite tunes filled the air. She also delighted in the thrill of the casino, especially the sounds of the slot machines as she entered.

Aurea is survived by her loving husband, Anastacio Del-Valle, and her children, Miguel Cuevas, Elizabeth Cuevas, and Jessica Del-Valle. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Vanessa, Johnny, Jeremy, Mickey, Anthony, Amanda, Stephan, Kasandra, Kiara, Sasha, Darius Cuevas, Ryan, and Jada Cousins. Aurea is further survived by her siblings: brothers Anibal, Isreal, Moses, and Isaias Candelario, and sister Eloida Mills. She was predeceased by her parents, Amelia Rivera and Adelino Rivera, her sisters, Olga and Judith Candelario; her son, Juan Cuevas; and her granddaughter, Shelby Berdecia.

Aurea's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. So remember the good times and embrace all the memories you made with her. Her ability to make everyone feel special and valued will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Aurea's life will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, from 11:00am until 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ. Aurea will be laid to rest at Siloam Cemetery 550 N. Valley Ave. Vineland, NJ. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and stories as we honor a remarkable woman who brought joy to so many.
