Obituary of Delfin Soto
Please share a memory of Delfin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delfin Soto Soto was born to Jose Leon Soto and Margarita Torres Soto in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on April 22, 1952. He went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2024. Delfin lived most of his life in Puerto Rico with his mom. He later came to live in Vineland, NJ and lived next to his sister Amaite Vera (Glady) and every morning he would go over make coffee and keep his sister company all day.
One of fin's favorite hobbies was collecting antique cars and hot wheels. He had hundreds of small cars and it was a large collection. He enjoyed going on car rides with the family and many rides with Eliseo to the flea markets and to red white and blue. He also loved going to church and worshiping the Lord with all his heart. He served God all his life. In Puerto Rico he would walk to church. One of the things he was known for was that he would stand under a bridge and wave to the people who would drive by. He became very well known for his act of kindness. He loved being around family and one of the things he looked forward to was the holidays for the food and a chance to see all the family. He especially loved Christmas because he loved to play the white elephant game. He had a kind heart if you ask him for something he would give it to you. He was the youngest in his family.
He is survived by his brothers, Benjamin Soto, Delmiro Soto, Edwin Vera, Jesus Soto, Samuel Soto, and his sisters, Amaite Vera, Amparo Soto and Teresa Soto. He is preceded by Luminada Soto, Luciano Soto, Hector Soto, Aurelio Soto and Raymond Soto. He has many nieces and nephews.
Fin was a very special person, he never had anything bad to say. He liked when people would go look at his car. We would like to take the time to thank Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Bishop McCarthy Center and Hospice Care for the care of Delfin Soto. Thank you Margie for being there for all doctor appointments and making important decisions. Thank you Liz for always being just a phone call always and for always shaving him when he needed it. We could not have done all this without the help of such a great family. Iris and Elba thank you and Pastor Juan for all you did. But there is a person that we can't go without mentioning, his sister Glady, for all the time and care she gave him every day. The love they shared was special, he would make her laugh so hard. He had a special spot in the living room where he would sit at her house and everyone knows it was by the door. He loved mom's cooking. Thank you Eli for taking mom to see him every chance you could. Thank you for all who took time to visit him. Thank you Edwin for giving of your time.
Tio, we won't say goodbye but, till we meet again, for his hope was to be with the Lord. WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!! BUT YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!
