Obituary of Alejandrina Delgado
Alejandrina Delgado, affectionately known as "Alejita", "Nanny", "Mamita", transitioned peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 84.
She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico in 1940, moving to New Jersey in the early 1960's. Ultimately, went on to work for most of her career at Wheaton Industries and retiring after 30+ years of service.
Alejita was a caring, loving, God fearing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and more. She was spunky, positive, encouraging, exuded unconditional love and was someone whose presence you craved to be around. Throughout her entire life, she was an example to follow, not only by her strength and will to persevere but also by her unwavering faith in God.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, gardening, walks in the park, and watching her favorite Spanish shows on TeleMundo and Univision. She loved serving the Lord, actively and loyally being a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, where she was involved in the Cursillo and Legion of Mary, to name a few.
Alejita joins many loved ones in heaven, survived by her four children, Ada Delgado (Claudio), Miriam Petropoulous (George), Frankie Delgado, and Lillian Delgado. Seven grandchildren, Adam Walker (Jaimie), Adriana Walker (Mike), Zoey Petropoulous, Charity Harris, Kendra Perez (Marcellus), Frankie Delgado Jr., and Saniyah Gross. Also survived by two sisters, Gladys Lynch and Polita Munoz, along with many other nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
The love she brought to everyone's lives will never be forgotten, as her passing has left a void the family and all who loved her cannot fill. Alejita will forever be missed.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 3rd from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a mass at 11:00am at the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W Chestnut Ave, Vineland. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 741 E. Walnut Rd. Vineland.
