Obituary of Loretta Trevino

Please share a memory of Loretta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with much sadness that the family of Loretta Trevino announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, August 17th at the Veterans Memorial Home of Vineland. She was 91. Loretta was born on July 1, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to immigrant parents from Spain. She was a long time resident of Vineland. Her successful career with the state of New Jersey included serving as office and payroll manager for the Vineland State School, the Veterans Memorial Home, and Stockton State College. After retiring, Loretta tackled a new challenge and began writing a popular series of family-oriented human interest stories as a member of the Daily Journal Community Advisory Board. Loretta always loved art, music, and dance. In her later years, she discovered the joy of poetic expression. Cooking was among her many talents, and she specialized in Latin cuisine. She often catered special events for family, friends and work place colleagues, usually by popular request. Nothing made her happier than seeing people enjoy her food. She was also a passionate supporter of her children and grandchildren, enthusiastically cheering them on in all their school and sporting events. Loretta shared her cheerful and unconditional love with Eusebio "TV", her husband of 67 years; her three children, Lillie Taylor and her husband, Bill, of Florida; John Trevino of Landisville; Irene Trevino and her husband, Bill Nichols, of Vineland; and four grandchildren, Chelsea Newhouse of Baltimore, Kelly Trevino of New Orleans, Katie Trevino of Philadelphia, and Zachary Nichols of Vineland. In addition, Loretta is survived by her loving niece Odulia "Julie"Jacott of New York, who held a special place in her heart, and her son Carlitos Jacott of California. Surviving family members also include her sister Manolina Confeiteiro, and her husband, Ernesto, of Portugal; sister-in-law, Alda Garcia of Vineland; nieces Jennie Babulak, and her husband Steve, of New Jersey, and Laura Martinez of Florida; and nephews Anthony Garcia of California, Michael Garcia of Florida, and Robert and David Garcia, both of Vineland. She also has sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews in Texas. Loretta was predeceased by her beloved sister Maria Garcia, and her brothers Mike and Bob Garcia. The family would like to express special appreciation to Inspira Hospice and, in particular, Lissette Gonzalez and Beth Kennedy for their compassion, friendship, and guidance; and to the Honor Circle staff of the Veterans Memorial Home for their professionalism and patience in caring for Loretta during her final weeks. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24th, between 2 and 4 pm at DeMarco- Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, during which friends may pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to celebrate the life of Loretta Trevino, do so with a donation to Hospice, Veterans Memorial Home Activity Fund, SPCA Humane Society, or a charity of their choice.
