Obituary of Janet Beaudoin

Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janet (Brophy) Beaudoin, 78, died on Monday, November 11, 2013, following a short illness. Jan grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut and met her husband Ron while studying mathematics at the University of Connecticut. Following graduation, Jan and Ron married in 1958 and moved to Vineland, where they lived for 54 years. Jan was a parishioner at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church. Jan applied her mathematics and analysis skills toward working for the Department of Defense at United Aircraft. With the birth of their first child, Jan became a stay at home mom, loving her role of guiding, nurturing and encouraging her children'€™s development. As their children became adults, Jan worked at the Vineland Public Library for 33 years. She specialized in young children's books and was very active in reading to the littlest of children during Baby Time and other library events. Jan'€™s favorite contribution was performing the "€œNutcracker Prince"€ puppet show each Christmas to a room full of eager, young children. Jan and Ron spent their leisure time visiting Disney World and traveling through Europe. They made many travel friends during their journeys. Jan enjoyed a relaxing balcony view (especially looking over the water), a ride through the countryside, and sharing stories over a great meal. She was an avid collector of teddy bears and loved decorating and entertaining for Christmas. Jan is remembered in hundreds of photos, snuggling her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as babies. She always had a loving, strong, very personal and special connection with each of her family members, and was a sought-after source of guidance, feedback and development to many. Jan is predeceased by her husband Ron, who passed away in March of this year. She is survived by their sons, Ron Jr. and his wife Sheri of Frederick, Md., Greg and his wife Christina of Mount Joy, Pa., and David and his wife Suzanne of Franklin Township. Jan adored her grandchildren, Danielle (and her husband Brandon), Samantha (and her husband Dan), Joseph, Steven, Jonathan, Gabriella, Christopher, Jace, Patrick and Vivian; and great-grandchildren, Alex and Luke. Jan is also survived by her dear niece, Carol Wolter-Gustafson, her husband Paul, and their daughters, Rebecca and Melissa (and her husband Brent and daughter Katherine) of Jamaica Plain, Mass. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made "In memory of Jan Beaudoin"€ to The Vineland Public Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.
