Obituary of Luis A Sagardia

Luis Angel Sagardia-Tirado, Jr. age 57, of Vineland, NJ, passed away suddenly on December 5, 2013 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. Luis was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Juana "Fia" Tirado and Luis Angel Sagardia Sr., on September 25, 1956. He went on to La Universidad Interamericana de Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He spent his earlier years working for Cervini's, Post Marine Yachts and as a school bus driver for Sheppard Bus. Recently, he worked for On Time Transportation, transporting children for Weisman Children's Medical Day Care in Vineland, NJ. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, gardening, and exercising. Luis enlisted in the US Army as an Infantry man in 1976. He received an Expert Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medals and an Expert Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar and was honorably discharged in 1980.
He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Angel Sagardia.
Luis is survived by his wife of 28 years, Josefina Rivera-Sagardia, son; Luis A. Sagardia III, daughter; Cynthia Sagardia, step daughters; Jacqueline Santiago & Irisandra Santiago-Durnan all of Vineland, New Jersey, mother; Juana Tirado -Sagardia, brothers; Israel Sagardia, Jesus Sagardia and Jose Sagardia all of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, sister; Luisa Melendez of Vineland NJ, along with five beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Luis will be laid to rest in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9am to 11am at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to his wife, Josefina Sagardia, 237 S. Delsea Dr. P.O. Box 127 Vineland, NJ 08360. The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thank all who loved him and shared memorable memories in his life.
