Maria "Conchita" (Andujar) Gonzalez, 87 of Vineland, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the SJ Regional Medical Center. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she was well known as a foster mother.
Conchita was one of the original pioneers of the Puerto Rican Festival and Casa P.R.A.C. She was a winner of numerous awards for her work with the Puerto Rican community and was a member of the Board of Education.
Conchita was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and is predeceased by her husband, Jesus Gonzalez and 3 sons.
Survived by:
2 sons: Angel Louis Viruet and Dr. Eddie Andujar
4 daughters: Marina Galarza, Maria Viruet, Lillian Rivera, and Carmen D. Rill
2 sisters: Maria Virginia Fontanez and Catalina Andujar
Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 110 Highland Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, and again on Thursday morning at the CHURCH from 9am to 10am.
