Robert Lenox Burns, 76, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 17th in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Bob was born in Wynnewood, PA to John and Eleanor Burns on September 8, 1937. He was a 1955 graduate of Wildwood High School and furthered his education at Villanova and Rider University where he earned an accounting degree. After an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard Academy he served two years in the US Army. He dedicated himself to a variety of different jobs over the years. After spending many years working for Woodbine Developmental Center where he was the assistant business manager he retired from New Lisbon Developmental Center. He enjoyed traveling, canoeing, crabbing, football, and spending countless hours down the shore with his family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife, Madeleine (Geyer) Burns of Vineland, NJ. Six children and their spouses, Christopher and Joni Burns of Galloway Township, NJ; Terry and Chris Russo of Millville, NJ; Jackie and Jack Kelley of Vineland, NJ; Kelly and Wally Shope of Clayton, NJ; Scott Burns of Hillsborough, NJ; and Colleen and John Everett of Smyrna, DE. He was the loving grandfather of Brittany, Scott, Nicolette, Shannon, Cavan, Alexa, Geyer, Kristen, Falcon, Logan, and Charlotte. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Jack Burns and sister, Dorothy Sullenberger. As per Roberts wishes the family will be holding a private service to celebrate his life. He will forever be missed and held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
