Obituary of Anthony V. Smaniotto

Anthony V. Smaniotto, Jr., 77 of Vineland, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, Born in Vineland, NJ., he was a lifelong area resident. Anthony served in the occupational forces of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict (1955-1958) and was a truck driver for 47 years, working at LoBiondo Bros and Homiak Transport, Inc., Vineland. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Council 2531 and served 35 years as an usher at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, The New Italy American Society and The North Italy Club. Anthony was an avid golfer, loved to spend his time at weekly breakfasts with Tommy and Bobby, with "the Dinner Group," and with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by parents; Anthony Sr. and Anna M. (Scaglia), a sister; Lucille Wobensmith and a grandchild; Kevin J. Smaniotto, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan (Thurman) Smaniotto His children are Anthony, III (Lorrie), Kevin (Brenda), Nicole Riggione (Jeffrey) His brothers and sisters; Gloria Franceschini, Richard Smaniotto (Beverly), George Smaniotto and Alice Sutter (Edward) Grandchildren: Andre Smaniotto, Alexis Smaniotto, Ashten Melgar (Steven), Amanda Smaniotto, Cara McCracken (Matthew), Jillian Smaniotto, Sean Riggione, Alfred Riggione 2 Great-grandchildren: Andrew and Gemma A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Vineland. Anthony will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Sunday evening at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland from 6pm to 8pm and again on Monday morning at the CHURCH from 9:30am to 10:15am.
