Teresita was a wonderful person and I enjoyed spending with time with her at Atria. She was a loving person and giver of hope to others. She was always like a breath of fresh air. I especially enjoyed our "Current Events" daily meetings--she was always on target and we all enjoyed her. I will miss her, we all will miss her.
My deepest condolences,
Dr. John Hirschbuhl

To:Daughter, Family Members and Friends,
It is with sincerest thoughts of gratitude to God that I thank Him for an opportunity to have known and worked with Professor Teresita Fernandez-Vina. Her kind and gentle interactions with colleagues and the students she taught, at Cheyney University, made it evident that she really cared. I have precious memories of her remaining in her office, long after her day had ended, to provide tutorial assistance to her students.
Professor Fernandez-Vina shared with many her thoughts regarding equality and civility. She made many of us aware of the need to love, share, and care for others. It is my prayer that God will use these thoughts of her to assist in the healing of your hearts. May He comfort you during this time and always.
Sincerely,
Etta G. Baldwin, Director

I am very saddened by the passing of Professor Fernandez-Vina. She was a wonderful colleague and supporter. She served on our Women's Month Committee, she traveled with our students, in the snow, to California, PA to the final four, she worked tirelessly to create a civil campus and student body through the Society for Civility.
Professor Ferandez served as an advisor for the Latino Students in Action. Both she and her mother shared the Latino culture with us through programming and food. The best food! She cared about us, about the students about Cheyney. In December, I picked up a Cheyney shirt for her, at the request of Ms. Vicki Redmond. On Valentine's Day, I shared lunch with my friend Vicki and we discussed going to see Teresita. We procrastinated and never got to see her smile as she received her Cheyney shirt.
Do it today! Vist, call, share your love today. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
Lots of love to you, Teresita

Teresita focused on being the best person she could be even as she helped others do the same. I am grateful for having known her and for her insight and advice.
I wish you and yours peace and blessings.
