Obituary of Eliades Gonzalez

Eliades "Gladys" Gonzalez, 81 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord very peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she had moved to Vineland in 1956 and was a graduate of Utuado High School. Gladys was employed by the Vineland Developmental Center as a Certified Nurses Aide for 21 years. She also worked for De Rossi Clothing Co. as a sewing machine operator for 10 years. Gladys enjoyed gardening, cooking, doing crossword puzzles. She was a very strong willed woman, always giving and was very active in the community. Gladys was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her random acts of kindness which she did often throughout the years. She is predeceased by a daughter, Ivette Torres and a son, Luis Orlando Torres, 3 brothers, Anselmo, James, and Santiago Gonzalez, and 2 sisters, Josephine Cortez and Carmita Diaz. Survived by: 1 son: Louis Torres and wife of Vineland 3 daughters: Amides "Reds" and Efrain Rosa of Florida Eliades "Ely" Torres of Vineland Chatz Torres of Vineland 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren 1 brother: Gabriel Gonzalez of Puerto Rico 5 sisters: Luz Rosario, Emelinda Gonzalez, and Isabel Irizarry all of Vineland Dalila Gonzalez and Dolores Vasquez both of Puerto Rico Many nieces and nephews A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and again on Saturday morning at the CHURCH from 8:30am to 9:45am.
