Viola Matrone, 90, died July 13, 2012 with her daughter by her side in Medford, N.J.
Born September 25, 1921 in Neshoba County, M.S., Viola was one of twelve children of John and Cora McCraw.
In 1948, she married Philip Matrone, who passed away in 1990. After many years of living in Mississippi and Tennessee, the family moved to Vineland, N.J. in 1969. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She lived and worked in Memphis prior to marriage and worked for a few years in the Vineland Schools and for Newcomb Hospital.
Viola Matrone is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Gorgo and husband Gary Gorgo; her son, Philip Matrone and wife Nancy Matrone; four grandchildren, Jennifer Gorgo, Jessica Gorgo Leventhal and husband Douglas, Andria Matrone and Michael Matrone; and her sister, Elnora Rigdon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Friday
from 9am to 11am at the funeral home.
