Obituary of Janice M Carano
Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janice, "Jan-Jan" Carano (nee Witte), 76, of Richland, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born in Malaga, where she enjoyed spending many happy times with her siblings at Malaga Lake. It was there she met her husband, Carl (Pippy) Carano. As their family grew, many days were spent swimming or ice skating at the lake with cousins and close family members.
Jan-Jan's greatest enjoyments were cooking gravy and meatballs for Sunday dinners, traveling whenever the opportunity arose, dinners at her daughters, her weekly bowling "league" and trips to the library, solving crossword puzzles, and being surrounded by her loved ones and the wonderful friends she made throughout the years. She retired from "The Spot" after selling lottery to her wonderful customers for years. These customers later became her "scratch-off" companions at Cappuccio's where she was known as Mama.
She is predeceased by her husband, Carl Carano; her parents, John and Hazel Witte and her brother, Jack Witte. She is survived by her siblings, Arlene (Tom) McGuire, Dottie (Leo) Carano, Belle (Hillbilly) Rains, Mary DiFilippo, and Butch (Debbie) Witte; sisters in-law, Emili Adams, Sandra Panzino, and Judy Carano; four daughters, Steph (Harry) Callahan, Tina (Enio) Ciancaglini, Bernie Kline, and Suzie Carano; seven grandchildren, Tierney and Tyler Callahan, Shelby and Austin Kline, Brianna and Dominic Ciancaglini, Jay Lockard. She will be greatly missed by all but especially her beloved dog, Carmel.
