Obituary of Louis A. Cairone

Louis A. Cairone Sr., of Malaga passed away peacfully at the age of 94. He died on Thursday, July 7th at his home. Louie leaves behind his wife, June (Morrell); sons, Frank (Cindy), Louis Jr, and daughters, Mary Foster (Bob), Joanne White (John), eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; brother, Joe Cairone (Dolores); many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Maria Gracia; brother, Matthew; sisters, Mary (Jennie) Francesco, Rose Vassallo, Angelina Zeuner, Violet Coia, and daughter-in-law, Susan Grasso (Lou Jr.) Louie was a leader both in his agricultural endovers and his community. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church, Malaga, a member of the Malaga Fire Co. where he served as a Commissioner, Director of the Vineland Produce Auction for 35 years as well as a Franklin Township Committeeman for 12 years. In 1992 he was honored with the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award. Before his illness, Louie would take a daily tour through town to check on his farmer friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida and above all, he loved time with his family. Before his retirement, Lou owned and operated with his wife and sons, Cairone Farms and during winter months, he drove for Pedroni Fuel Co. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Louie will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Sunday evening from 5pm to 8pm and again on Monday morning from 10am to 11am at the funeral home.
