Obituary of Daniel J. Girimonte

Daniel Joseph Girimonte, 81 surrendered and passed from this life on July 28, 2016 after a long and difficult struggle with complications due to an injury. Born March 25, 1935 Danny grew up in Philadelphia. As a young man, under the direction of his dad, he learned his lifelong trade as a cement mason. Danny moved to NJ in the 1970's and settled in Newfield where he made many friends. After moving to Vineland he met Juanita in the late 70's and they were together until the end of his life. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union Local 5 and continued as a retired member proud to be part of the brotherhood of Union workers. Danny had a passion for cooking. He loved making the Italian dishes that were taught to him by his mother. He was happiest when he cooked for his family and friends and hosted many gatherings so he could feed the people he loved and watch them enjoy. Danny was an amazing man and at the age of 50 he built the home him and Juanita lived in for the rest of his life. He was an artist and used the medium of his trade to create unique and beautiful adornments for his home and yard. For nearly 30 years he hosted his Girimonte Family Annual Wine Tasting which took place in his backyard winery. Those were some of the best times of his life, surrounded by family and friends, laughing and partying while enjoying his homemade wine. He is deeply mourned and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Juanita (Reader); his sons, Joseph and wife Toniann and Daniel and wife Chrissie; his daughter, Gina and husband Dennis; his grandchildren, Gianna, Julia, and Jessica; his siblings, Rose Harding and brother-in-law Ben, his twin brother Louie, sister Toni Brown; his mother-in-law, Vera Reader; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Victor Terenik, Sharon and David Bertino, Joseph and Jan Reader, Vera Giglio, and Earl Reader. There also are many nieces, nephews, and cousins that mourn his loss. Danny was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Girimonte; his sister, Eleanor Daniels and brother Peter; his father-in-law, Joseph Reader; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bruno Grimaldi; and brother-in-law Wayne Giglio. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 5pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private.
