Captain Daniel J. Francis, 65, of Cape May, NJ passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Daniel was born in Upper St. Clair, PA on June 28, 1951 to Daniel V. and Marilyn Francis. After a long career in the United States Coast Guard, Daniel achieved his commercial Captains license and captained vessels from New Orleans to Massachusetts. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Christopher Francis.
Daniel is survived by his son, Dr. Daniel Francis of Philadelphia; daughter, Kelly Ann (Joseph) Iyeke of Washington D.C.; brothers, Steven (Mary) Francis of Elyria, OH, Martin (Kelly) Francis of Vineland, NJ, and Rafael (Sandy) Francis of Wexford, PA; grandchildren, Layla, Kalee, Daniel Francis and Anthony Street; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday from 2pm to 4pm, with a funeral service being held at 3:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Memories, thoughts and prayers may be extended to the family by visiting dlfuneral.com.
