Charles R. Pokorny Jr., age 83, of Calabash, NC died Wednesday August 22nd at his late residence. Born in Bronx, NY and lived in the Vineland area most of his life. He is retired from LoBiondo Bros. Trucking Co. and Teamsters L.U. 676. He was an honorary member of Milmay Fire Co., a life member of National Rifle Assoc. and a former founding member of Milmay Gun club. He was also a member of The Sons of Italy and The Elks Lodge in N.C. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Pokorny. Daughter Delores Bombara and husband Vinnie of Vineland. Sons Richard Pokorny of Vineland, Michael Pokorny and wife Shari of Tn. Sister Ruth Cottrill of Mystic Island N.J. Brother Stephen Pokorny Sr. of Millville N.J. 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.13 nieces and nephews, and 2 cousins. He is preceded by his parents Charles Pokorny Sr. and Anna (Hornung) Pokorny. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday August 28th at 12 noon at Padre Pio Parish, Pompeii Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30am at the DeMarco - Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ.
