Obituary of Patricia A. Olsen
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia "Pat" "Pep" (Van Noord) Olsen, 70, of Vineland, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 surrounded by family and friends just as she lived, after a valiant 18 month long battle with lung cancer. Pat graduated from Millville High School in 1964.
She worked for 33 years as a School Bus Driver, which she loved, for the Vineland Public Schools prior to her retirement 6 years ago. She had a great love for family and friends. She was a great friend to everyone and was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her along the way. Pat loved to be at home cooking especially her famous crabs and spaghetti, baking, collecting recipes, eating with family and friends, going camping and spending time with those fortunate enough to know her. She loved her Grant Avenue Family where she lived for 46 years and was affectionately known as "Ma Pat". Her door was always open, there was always a party going on, the tea was always ready, her ears and heart were always willing to listen, offer advice and her hands ready to help.
Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 47 years, David Olsen; two daughters, Melanie and husband Corey Beck and Nancy and husband Stephen Houbary all of Vineland; ex son-in-law, John Lovisone; four grandchildren, Laina Lovisone of Port St. Lucie, FL, Dylan Houbary, Gianna Lovisone and Ashton Houbary all of Vineland. She is also survived by one brother Peter Van Noord of Vineland, several close nieces, nephews, her Grant Avenue Family, "acquired children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren" and friends too numerous to mention.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna Van Noord; sister Agnes Van Noord DeFuria; brother Leonard Van Noord; brother Neal Van Noord; sister Ann Van Noord McFearters and several in laws, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again on Friday morning from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Pat will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery, Vineland.
