Shirley (Ferrick) Hope passed on her 82nd birthday on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
Shirley was born to Francis and Mary Ferrick in Scranton, PA and was raised in Bellmawr, NJ. She moved to Vineland to raise her family of five children in 1970. She was employed at the Vineland Developmental Center as a nurse until the late 1990s.
Known by the family as the QVC queen, her one true pleasure and hobby was ordering gifts for her children and grandchildren and lavishing them on their birthdays and Christmas. She was a woman of great determination and stubbornness and worked hard as a single parent to make sure her children never went without.
Shirley is survived by her children, Charles Hope (Dianne), Steven Hope (Lori), Kathleen Leonelli (Larry), Paul Hope (Donna) and Donna Lea Thomas (David); her grandchildren, Karlie and Alexandra Leonelli, Steven and Brandon Hope, Nicole and Jennifer Hope; longtime friend, Bernie Pigott; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hope; daughter-in-law, Kathy (Trivelli) Hope; brothers, Frank, Joe, Jerry, and Butch Ferrick; sisters, Gail Landolfi, Joyce Lee, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Bruce, and parents, Francis and Mary Ferrick.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 27th at 11am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Isidore's Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Monday morning at the CHURCH from 9am to 10:45am. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S.
