Obituary of Patrick B. Boniello

Patrick Blaise Boniello, 77 of Newfield, passed away Thursday morning, February 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1941 to the late Joseph and Josephine (Azeglio) Boniello, he was raised in Malaga and became a resident of Newfield after marrying his wife Diane Asselta. Pat was a graduate of Clayton High School in 1959 and very honorably served 22 years in the Army Reserves, 469th engineer battalion. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Newfield Business Alliance, Newfield Recreation Commission, and an usher at St. Rose of Lima Church, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Pat owned the Vineland ARCO Service Station, and along with his wife, owned Remodeling Concepts and the Cabinet Source. He was an amazing woodworker and enjoyed making his grandchildren's furniture. In his younger days, he loved racing the Blue Jewel (Buick LeSabre) at Atco and racing stock cars at Vineland Speedway.
He most loved being a grandfather and was known to his grandkids as "Poppy". He was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren and loved going to their softball games, swim meets, soccer games, tennis matches, and other events.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joe.
Pat will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Diane; daughters, Pamela Brunini (Doug) of Landisville and Laura Miller (Ryan) of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Gianna and Julia Brunini, Ryder and Cala Miller; sister, Jean Messina; sister in law, Joyce Boniello; sister and brother in laws, Mary Ann and Feek Luciano, Jim and Lyn Asselta and several nieces and nephews.
A church visitation will be held on Monday from 11am to 12:45pm at St. Rose of Lima Church, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 104 Catawba Ave, Newfield, followed by a funeral mass at 1pm. Pat will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery, Newfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Patrick Boniello can be sent to the Knights of Columbus 6513, PO Box 502, Malaga NJ 08328 or the Veteran's Operation Safe Haven located at 1664 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08322. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
