Obituary of Dr. Jorge M. Gonzales

DR. JORGE M. GONZALES, 83, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on June 10, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Dr. Gonzales was born in Lima, Peru, where he studied medicine, before coming to the United States. A well-known and respected surgeon Urologist at Jefferson, Newcomb, and many other regional hospitals, Dr. Gonzales was devoted to making a difference in the lives of his patients and colleagues over several decades. He was also a very religious man, who loved God and his Church, and was very active in the local community. A beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, Dr. Gonzales is survived by his wife, Miriam (Muvdi) Gonzales of Vineland; daughter, Molly Finkelstein, and son-in-law Steven, of Sicklerville, NJ; daughter, Carmen E. Gonzales, of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Jayne Benfer, of Pittsgrove, NJ; son, George Gonzales, of Ewing, NJ; sister, Norma Gonzales de Paz Soldan, and brother-in-law Alfonso, of Lima, Peru; brother, Carlos Cuervo, of Bridgeton, NJ; grandchildren, Sam, Josh, Eleni, Samuel, David and Jack; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will be received on Friday evening, June 15, 2018, from 6pm to 8pm with a 7:30pm service at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private.
