Luis F. Afanador passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. He was born on May 1, 1920 in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Bernardino Afanador Cuevas and Maria Amparo Afanador. Luis moved to New York as a young man from Puerto Rico where he spent most of his adult life. He moved to Vineland, New Jersey in the early 2000's to be closer to his children. Luis loved his hats and suits and enjoyed singing and smoking hand rolled cigars. Luis is survived by 6 children; Angelo Afanador, Moises Afanador, Esther Irizarry, Marilyn Hollaway, Ines Bermudez and Luis Afanador; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended relatives. The family would like to thank NJ CC Hospice for providing Luis and his family with compassionate sensitive care until he passed. They would also like to thank Bishop McCarthy Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare for helping to take care of him for the last several months of his life. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 11am-12pm followed by a funeral service at 12pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2756 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland NJ 08361. Luis will be laid to rest at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
