Obituary of Abel Gonzalez

Abel "Bebo" Gonzalez Jr, 29, of Vineland was called home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2018. He was born on January 20, 1989 to Abel Gonzalez Sr. (Annie) of Landisville and Lillian Casillas (Carl) of Minotola. Abel was a standout baseball player having played for many teams, traveling up and down the East Coast. Abel played in many championship games but his proudest win was the 2004 Division 1 - 15U National Championship in Virginia Beach, VA. One of his biggest passions as an adult was being an Arborist. He found peace climbing high in trees. He was recently employed with Blade by Blade LLC in Pitman, NJ. Abel is survived by his daughter, Aniyah L. Gonzalez; father and mother; stepmother, Iris Echevarria; two grandmothers, Hilda Rios (Pedro) and Sonia Cardona; five sisters, Angela, Tiffany, Christine Gonzalez, Kimberly Candelaria (Peter) and Jennifer Cortez; brother, Edison Echevarria Jr; five aunts, Maria Vargas (Angel), Dolly Santos (Paul), Jannie Rios-Riley, Maggie Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez; four uncles, Eremias Gonzalez, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Mike Rios and Jose Rios; fourteen nieces and nephews, many cousins and longtime girlfriend Stephanie Echevarria. Abel is predeceased by his best friend, Joshua Moren, stepbrother, Miguel Echevarria and nephew, Harry Legette Jr. Family and friends will be received on Thursday evening from 6-8pm and Friday morning from 9am to 11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Abel will be laid to rest at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
