Obituary of John J. Welsh

John J. Welsh Jr. passed on to Heaven peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born on September 3, 1940 in Trenton, NJ to John Welsh Sr. and Josephine Welsh. John is survived by his daughter Peggy A. Welsh; 3 grandchildren Erica, Jessica, and Angelica; 5 great grandchildren, and extended relatives. John moved to Vineland, NJ as a child where he spent most of his adult life. John worked for many years as a Security Guard before retiring. His last 4 years were spent with great joy living at Jaycee Plaza in Millville, NJ and participating in the Caring Assisted Living program. John loved collecting hats, Civil War history, and stories of the Bible and Catholic faith. As part of his Social Day program John became quite skilled at building and painting model airplanes, and loved gifting them to friends and family alike. In recent years, John attended the Parish of All Saints in Millville, NJ and found great joy in becoming and serving as a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank Trish, Donna, Nancy, Cathy and all the other staff at Caring Assisted Living for providing John a wonderful and active life in his retirement. The family would also like to thank The Parish of All Saints, Father Peter Idler, and the Knights of Columbus for their love and support of John and the family. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 10:15am at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland followed by a funeral liturgy at 11am at The Parish of All Saints, St. Mary's Cemetery, 621 Dock St., Millville. John will be laid to rest at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
