Obituary of Lucien J. Derise

Lucien J. "Lou" Derise age 88 of Buena Borough, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at home. Lou was born and raised in Jersey City. He attended Snyder High School and graduated in 1948. He worked at the United States Postal Service his entire career. While he lived in Jersey City, he volunteered his time to the community by being involved with the local Little League, CYO and St. Aloysius Parish. Upon his retirement in 1989, he moved to Buena where he and his wife Rose lived with his mom, Sue. He was dedicated to helping others at the senior center and taught CCD at St. Michael's Church for several years. He is preceded in death by his brother, Frank and his parents, Sue and Ben. Lou is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; his children and their spouses, Joseph (Joseph), Frank (Elaine) and Michael (Jennie); seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Jessica, Nicole, Frank, Caitlynn, and Michael and one great grandchild, Norah along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 11am to 12pm, with a funeral liturgy to follow at 12pm at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, 504 West Ave., Minotola. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave, Vineland.
