Obituary of Luis Cruz

Luis Santos Martinez Cruz was born on November 18th, 1948; to Pedro Cruz and Maria Eugenia Martinez in Humaco, Puerto Rico.

He moved to Brooklyn, New York in the early 1950's with his siblings.

Luis found his passion for the piano very early in life, eventually joining Orquesta Libre furthering his musical passion. It was through following his dreams that he was blessed with his children Daniel & Jessica. Later on, he was again a father to Tiffany & Lenny.

Luis worked for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn while being a prominent citizen of the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Luis forged many close relationships throughout his life. His good sense of humor, worldly knowledge and intellect made him a popular member of the community and most importantly his family.

Luis had a natural charisma and was a centerpiece for his family and friends alike. After his children were raised and ready to embark on their own journeys through life, Luis moved to join his surviving siblings in southern New Jersey. It was in New Jersey that he spent the remainder of his life before passing on.

Luis is survived by his 4 children and 7 grandchildren. His wisdom and memory shall carry on through them and generations to come. May God bless his soul and he continue to live through the memories and love that all had for him.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 1st, 2023 from 2:00pm until 3:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave, Vineland, New Jersey, 08361, followed by a funeral service at 3:30pm.
