It is with great sadness, we notify you of the loss of Richard H. Demmy, Jr., of Buena. He unexpectedly lost his battle with cancer in the hospital surrounded by his wife and son after months of adversity, fighting with grit and determination, on June 12, 2024 at the age of 69. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela (Steele) Demmy, his shepherds Igloo and Yeti, his son Jason (Ashley), grandchildren Trinity and Gavin, his sisters Donna Demmy, Christine Demmy-Moldenhaur, and Charlene (Mike) Fleming. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard Sr and Ruth Demmy.
Rick grew up in Dallas, PA and graduated from Williamsport Community College with a degree in Forestry. Once Rick met Pam - they were inseparable. Their amazing love story has been going strong for over 48 years. Together they raised their son Jason in Buena Boro, New Jersey. They have been the owners/operators of Tip Top Kennels for 40 years. They also trained dogs and ran clubs for a local 4H. Rick also worked for Berkshire/Hathaway Realty for 30 years. Rick was an avid boater, and a passionate dog lover. Wherever he went, Rick enjoyed talking with everyone. When not in South Jersey, he loved working on his Grand Banks trawler in Rock Hall, Maryland. Rick loved fishing and the beach. He was always with family and friends. And he adored spending time with his grandchildren. Rick was a great Mr. Fix-it and Renaissance Man. There was not a thing he couldn't fix or a topic he didn't know about, especially Bluegrass, German Shepherds, and Seagrams VO….
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 26, 2024 with visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm followed by a service at 7:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ. Rick's ashes will be spread at a later date on the Chesapeake Bay.
