It is with great sadness that I learned of Monty's passing. My family and I will be forever grateful for the many years of great service we experienced from him and his staff.
But Anthony "Monty" Monteleone was so much more than a good businessman. I always considered Monty a true friend, a fair, honest, God loving, Christian man who wore his heart on his sleeve and always placed the health and well-being of others over himself, reminding us that we are blessed and life is a wonderful gift. I will cherish the conversations we had when we both were going through some very rough physical times. Monty encouraged me to stay positive and leave things in God's hands.
I'm sure Monty now finds himself in those same loving hands.
So, to a life well lived and a rest well earned.
God Bless You Monty, Rest Well.

As many of you do know, today we lay my grandfather to rest. Many of you know him as Tony, Monty, Uncle Tony, Pops, Doodles, or Poppy. Regardless of what name you knew him by, you were honored and blessed to know him. He was a generous, smart, and loving man. Oh and he was also always right, whether you agree with that or not. He would always start out by saying “Now you can do what you want” but then would tell you exactly how it should be done. He was also very stubborn, hard headed, and independent which made him the strong man he was. I will always cherish the moments we had together, from the words of wisdom he would give me to teaching me how to jumpstart a battery for his old cub cadet tractor. Or trying to convince me that figs are delicious and I’m really missing out. You were the best grandfather a girl could ever ask for and I was blessed to be your granddaughter. You have been a role model in every aspect of my life, from working hard for what you want to being a God fearing man who always put God first in life. No matter how much pain you were in, you never stopped smiling, lighting up the room and bringing joy to those around you. Although I am at peace that you are no longer in pain and rejoicing in heaven, I am still saddened you are no longer with us. But your legacy will live on through all of us, as you have had such a significant impact on each and every person you came in contact with. Until we meet again Poppy, I love you.

Hello, my name is Kristina Chamy, and for those who don’t know me, I am Diane and Brian’s neighbor. My family and I have been truly blessed to know them and Pops for the last seven years. It genuinely feels as though we’ve known them our whole lives. I know many of you have had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man for a long time, and I’m sure you all agree that he has touched our lives in unforgettable ways.
Pops meant the world to my family. We loved him like family, and he adored my children. My son Joseph told me Pops was a kind-hearted soul he would never forget and loved dearly. My daughter Autumn cherished the moments she spent sitting with him, chatting and learning from him. My husband also valued his words of wisdom about life and the lessons he learned.
Our memories of him will remain with us forever—from holidays to breakfasts, dinners, and every other day we spent together. We will miss him beyond words, but we have so many cherished moments to hold on to, like the time I was driving on East Chestnut with the windows down and spotted a black Terrain. I said, "That looks like Pops!" Sure enough, with the windows down, it was him, bee bobbing his head to the music he was playing, most likely on his favorite station, 92.1, enjoying life.
There were also times when we would visit his house to bring him food or other things he needed, only to find figs or grapes withering away on the counter, looking like bad prunes. Of course, I was with Diane when Pops would say, "Do NOT throw those away; they are still good." Meanwhile, they had fuzz on them!
When I worked at the shop, there was even a time when someone got a cut, and he said put some kerosene on it. It will help stop the bleeding. He even gave us a bottle of kerosene to use around our house in a jar that was most likely used for cotton balls. Oh, how I loved this man!
I will also always remember the time Diane and I were out and decided to check on him. As we drove by, there he was, standing on a tall, skinny ladder on the second story of his roof, wearing sandals, a tank top, and shorts, working away. Diane and I were having heart attacks! She rushed inside while I dashed out front to hold the ladder, praying he wouldn’t fall. Diane opened the window and yelled at him, urging him to come down. Of course, he replied, "I need to do this; it’s got to get done. I’m fine." When he finally grew tired of Diane’s yelling, he asked me to climb up and fix something for him; meanwhile, I was in sandals myself! He had no fear whatsoever.
These are just a few stories that epitomize his life—getting the job done, just like when he was 18 and left his home country of Italy to start a new journey in America. This determination is why he had such a fantastic life; in the end, he truly knew it all, and my family and I loved him for that.
For those of you who knew him as Dad, Daddy, Poppy, Pops, Anthony, Tony, or Monty, I’m sure we all agree he was a brilliant and wise man. There was nothing he couldn't do or didn't know. I could spend all day sharing precious memories of this remarkable man we called Pops, who will never leave our hearts. He will be profoundly missed, and I thank Jesus every day for the moment my mother-in-law blessed the lawn of our new house with holy water when Diane happened to drive by and stop to say hello. Jesus had a plan that day, and my family is forever grateful to him and Diane's entire family, which has forever changed us by adding new family members to our own.
Though it will be tough without you here, you will always be in our hearts, as I’m sure you will be in the hearts of everyone here today. Until we are called home and meet again, we love you, Pops, and know you are enjoying your eternal life in heaven.

My deepest condolences to the Monteleone family, may Mr. Anthony rest in peace. Apart from being a good client, he was a great friend to me, his memories will always be present in our memories. He always took his time to talk to me every time we had to work at his home, he gave me good advice to move forward, he also told me part of his life story. I will always remember him with that kindness and appreciation he had for me. He will live forever in our hearts. Rest in peace my great friend Tony.

I never met a more dynamic presence with calm and kindness than that of my Uncle Tony. He always had time to teach and offer me advice from a child to an adult that helped shape my life. He would tell me "One day we all will meet at the feast in God's Kingdom" I always will remember and one day we all will. I will miss you Uncle Tony, until.

Monty was the first person I met over seven years ago when I started attending Calvary Chapel Vineland, and he truly embodied sweetness, gentleness, and love. He was a well-respected and admired man in our church community, and his presence will be greatly missed. I still remember my first day there, during a church picnic, when I was asked by another brother to save a seat while he went to get some food. Monty came over, took the seat, and despite my efforts to explain that I was saving it, he smiled and claimed it as his own. When the other person arrived, Monty graciously said, "Tony can take my seat anytime he wants." It was a small moment, but it perfectly captured the essence of Monty's generous spirit. What a blessing it has been to know him and to witness the impact of his beautiful heart on everyone around him.

The week before his passing we were able to talk for a little while at the shop as I was getting my car serviced and I asked him Tony how do you look so good and he said I just keep moving. Words of wisdom for me when I get to that age. He was truly an angel amongst us all. May the Lord comfort you all.
