Obituary of Juan Lopez
Please share a memory of Juan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Juan Lopez Maldonado, 86, of Utuado, Puerto Rico passed April 28, 2018. Juan was born to the late Miguel Lopez and Matilde Maldonado on January 14, 1932. Juan was a self-employed carpenter by trade and built many cabinets and homes. He enjoyed Puerto Rican folklore music, composing music, wrestling, and was very passionate about Classic cars, especially his Ford Fairlane.
Juan adored his parents and was a great son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. Juan enjoyed times spent with family in Waterbury, CT, especially with his nieces and nephews (too many to count) and he loved his dogs.
He took pride in his appearance and always had a comb in his pocket. He looked sharp going out on the town wearing his wing tipped shoes.
Juan is survived by five children; Heather Abreu (Pedro) and Sylvia Lopez of Lawrence MA, Johnny and Omayra Lopez of Utuado, PR, and Deborah Lopez of Reading, PA. Juan came from a very large family and is also survived by his siblings, Mercedes, Iris, Carlos, and his beloved sister and caretaker, Angelica; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by Estrella, Antonia, Thomas, Miguel, Theresa, Mercedes Dora, and Monserrate.
Tio Juan (mi heroe), will always be in our hearts and dearly missed by all.
Family and friends will be received from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ, with a funeral service at 7:30pm. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude.
